I have the same plant that came up with sunflowers under my bird feeder. (We only feed sunflower seeds.) Its huge! I've been trying to i.d. it for months. I was thrilled to see your entry. Can anyone help?

FYI- Birds fly to where your feeder is to eat. Then they poop out seeds they've already eaten So you're likely to see all sorts of interesting plants near a feeder. It's part of the way these seeds propagate and travel from one place to the other.

The plant is called Devil's Claw. The pod will eventually split to make two spikes on the end.
