Dollar General Homemade Hand Lotion

I have very dry skin and have bought so many different brands of lotion (some pretty pricey.) This seems to work better than any of them. Enjoy!

Ingredients

(All these ingredients are Dollar General brand)

  • 1 petroleum jelly
  • 1 aloe vera lotion (green bottle)
  • 2 pink baby lotions
  • Advertisement

  • 2 vitamin E creams

Directions

Mix with mixer

You can repack in the jars you emptied or buy new ones if you can find them.

I believe that Joyce is referring to the sizes that you can buy at Dollar General dollar stores. They probably only sell one size at that particular dollar store chain. Maybe Joyce has the bottles handy and can tell us how many ounces each bottle is?

I use a simular recipe. 1 bottle of baby lotion and 1 bottle of lotion containing vitamin E and 1 small container of vaseline and a couple of drops of peppermint oils. Mix ingredients together and store in jars or in my case a small bucket with a lid. Works great for rough hands.

I've got to try this one. I have even gotten prescription lotion my skin is so dry. And now with winter just around the corner it would be so great to find something that works.

I tried this for a pajama party featuring homemade spa treatments. We all agreed it was wonderful!

A friend of mine gave me some of this. I like it, except, anything with a scent sends my allergies sky high. I was pleased that it didn't turn rancid. Can you get this stuff unscented?

You can get cute little heart shaped jars with cork stopper at Michael's. Tie a little ribbon around the neck of bottle and makes a very nice gift. Attach recipe for lotion to ribbon.

I would like to make the dollar general hand lotion and was wondering if you found out the size bottles of the ingredients. Thanks for your help.

For a small gift I put the cream in the small (squatty) pimento jars with a ribbon ties around the lid. I use them mainly for little tokens of appreciation for the nurses in my doctor's office. They all tell me they love it because they are washing their hands many, many times a day. Also give to my hairdresser.
