How Long Does an Open Bottle of Wine Last?

Open Bottle of WineHow long is wine good for? My friend has a bottle from last Thanksgiving, it's September now, he says its fine to drink. I disagree. Who's right?

If it is a red wine, which shouldn't be refridgerated it is only good for about a week after being open, whilte wine is a little longer, but not by much.

If its red, put it in the fridge and it will last at least 3 days, take it out 1/2 an hour before drinking so the temperature comes back down again.
