Frugal Chain Necklace

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 519 Posts

Hey fashionistas! Chain (and metal disc) necklaces are all the rage, but the new trendy ones are pricey. Here's a tip - take smaller chain belts from the thrift store and fasten the ends together permanently by opening and closing a jump ring. Voila! An easy, cheap fashion necklace. (Really, no one can tell you spent $1 or so on the belt.)

Yep there are all sorts of tricks. I buy headbands and bangles and wrap them with foo foo yarn for all kinds of cool looks.
Did you find one earring at a yard sale? Make it into a pin!
Sometimes you can find cheap rings, then just hang them from an earring loop or other piece of jewelry. I have also used them for a scarf ring, which really is nice when you use several.
Great tip!
