Strawberry Vinegar

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • 2 cups cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Directions:

Remove stems from strawberries, and in halves. Set 1/4 cup aside.

In a large bowl, place remaining strawberries. Pour vinegar over strawberries.. Cover and set aside for 1 hour. Transfer vinegar and strawberries to a large pot. Add sugar, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered for 10 minutes.

Strain out strawberries mixture, pressing out as much liquid as possible. Pour vinegar into 1- 1/2 qt. jar Add reserved strawberries. Cover tightly. Makes about 3 cups.

This sounds easy enough to make. But I don't know what you would use it for. Also do you have to store it in the fridge or room temperature?
