Check Outside of Home for Wasp's Nests

When leaving the house, take the time to look up and check the doorway of the back door, front door and side doors. I did, and was horrified to discover a wasp's nest.

They also like to build nests inside the grill work of room air conditioners. I had that happen to the air conditioner in my apartment. I kept getting wasps in my apartment and maintenance couldn't find and sign of nests around the building.

Then last summer when they were putting a new air conditioner in my apartment as they went to pull the part out that was in my living room they discovered a wasp nest, so they quickly pushed the unit back in and went and got some spray, and pulled the unit back out just far enough to get the can of spray in and sprayed the nest.

I think the wasps are still up there, though, because sometimes when I am outside I see a wasp fly into the grill work. However, the way the new air conditioner fits into the opening I don't think the wasps can get through into my apartment, anyway, I haven't had any since they put the new conditioner in.

I found a small new nest (which of course would have become larger had I not noticed) being built under the back bumper of my car of all places :-o Needless to say it was knocked off and squished! Those aggressive little guys will build just about anywhere :-(
