Taking Prenatal Vitamins for Healthy Hair?

I was wondering if it was okay for me to be taking prenatal vitamins, I'm also on birth control. My sisters are the ones who recommended them for me because I want my hair to grow faster, but I've heard that it's bad for you to take if your not pregnant, and do not want to become pregnant. Is this true? Should I not take them?

Prenatal vitamins are not related to getting pregnant, just to giving your body the various nutrients it needs to be healthy. My daughter is a nurse practitioner, and has a 94 year old patient who still takes prenatal vitamins even though her son is 70. She told my daughter that she just never stopped taking them, and asked if she should stop. Since she is in good health and they are the only thing she takes, she was told to keep on with taking them.

You can also buy over the counter supplements called something like "Hair, Skin and Nails."
