Add Carnation Instant Breakfast to Coffee

When I wake up in the morning, I am groggy and not quite with it for a long time. I also don't really like to eat anything for several hours, which I know is not healthy - especially since I am diabetic and I've had some episodes of very low blood sugar. I found some Carnation Instant Breakfast at a very good price and bought enough for a month. I wanted to see if I would feel better for getting something into my stomach, maybe even get rid of the grogginess a little earlier. But, lazy me, I hated making my glass of iced coffee (mmm!) and another glass of beverage.

Well, a light went on: I made the Carnation with 1/2 cup of milk, then filled my big ol' mug the rest of the way with my coffee. Well, it was just delicious! It tasted like coffee with a really good chocolate creamer, and with that creamy feel too. I didn't need any creamer, which saved calories, and didn't need the additional half a cup of milk, which saved calories and carbohydrates (milk is very high carb). I also didn't have a second glass to clean.

Now I feel like I am getting better nutrition and saving myself a little trouble. I know, it's not ideal, but if I'm not making breakfast for myself by now, I figure it's not going to happen - so this is an improvement. The great taste is just a bonus!

I feel as you do about eating breakfast. Getting up early plays havoc with my ability to eat much. My suggestions may work well with your meal plan.

I make Keurig coffee using the 9 oz setting, and after drinking half a cup with a little flavored creamer, and 1 packet antioxidant Splenda, add to it 1 scoop of protein powder and (here's the secret) a half scoop of awful tasting, energy giving "Green Vibrance" from the health food store. Chase it down with 1/8 tsp. of ex virgin coconut oil also from the health food store.

See if that doesn't give you a little more energy in the morning. The large containers of Green Vibrance are expensive, so before you invest, try a sample size. See if you can eat a little something with it like a cookie or a slice of bread with peanut or almond butter.

Then at mid morning, have a snack of 20 peanuts and a protein low carb beverage (EAS brand). This should keep you going well until lunch.

What a helpful piece! I'm a diabetic too, and another who just isn't hungry and doesn't want to eat breakfast even if it is the "most important meal of the day," so I found this Carnation Breakfast hint to be very useful indeed.

My son wasn't a breakfast eater when he was young, so instead of sending him off to school without breakfast I gave him a glass of Carnation instant breakfast.

Now he has a son that isn't a great breakfast eater and is a little underweight - he is 2. We mix Carnation instant into his soy milk every morning and he drinks it right up. A little later in the morning eats his breakfast.

I will try that, I am a diabetic myself, and some morning I just don't feel like eating anything. but I make myself eat, I would knowly eat a banana on days I feel like that, but I drink coffee all day every day. I going to try this tomorrow morning. Thanks

I dont have any milk or sugar this morning. I tried an envelope of instant breakfast in my coffee- not bad. Ill try the ice coffee next

You sound like me! I too am diabetic and never waken ready for breakfast. I drink my coffee with condensed evaporated UNsweetened milk (which to me is better in coffee than cream or regular milk) but with that I have an ice cold glass of SlimFast in the coffee-capuccino flavor, which tastes like melted coffee ice cream.
