Refrigerator Exterior is Rusty?

I need to find out what to do with the rusty exterior of our refrigerator. One side is really bad.

Thanks.

I'm assuming the fridge is an older model. Wash the surface from any buildup and use Rustoleum paint as a primer so further rust won't show through the paint. It will have fumes and takes time to dry. Apply an oil based paint over this for metal. Oil based paints take time to dry.

Rust can be cleaned off with white vinegar. Swab area, wait few minutes wash with maybe a green scratcher/sponge, and keep doing until rust is gone. If necessary sand lightly with fine sandpaper when entirely dry.

Paint with paint suitable for metal [probably a white rustoleum type for appliances.] It's never going to be new again, but that's all right, isn't it.

KrudKutter for rust--from your hardware store. Safe too.
