Getting the Last Drop of Mayonnaise or Catsup

Dribble a little vinegar in the bottle or jar and shake well to get the last bit of Mayo or Catsup.

I have actually done this before, and it is very good and you really can't tell that you have added the vinegar unless you get to much. I love adding just a bit more in the catsup, as I like the vinegar taste in the catsup. Especially on fried potatoes.

Nothing like talking about the fattest food on the planet. Fried potatoes. Ummm especially if you fry them in bacon grease, and then add the catsup with some vinegar in it. Now that is awesome. One great side.

When down to the bottom of your mustard add a little vinegar with some Italian seasoning and make a great dressing with that last little bit.

When we make roasts in the crock pot we like to rinse out the nearly empty bottle of BullsEye with some of the water from out of the pot. It gives it a VERY good flavor.

I LOVE rubber spatulas! What a great invention. The peanut butter jar and mayo jar never got so cleaned as with one of those.

I always tip the bottle upside down to stand on the counter and have sometimes put it in the fridge door upside down. That way, the remainder is in the top. I do this to hair products, too!

Rinse out with sweet pickle juice. I save all my pickle juice in bottle in the back of the fridge. Great on spinach. We have made macaroni salad with leftover pickle juice, quite different.

Another thing I do with condiments are the ones from Taco Bell or Hardees and so on. I collect the contents into jars and bottles in the fridge - I keep taco sauce in a corked Cruet. I add it to chili a lot.

I haven't bought a bottle of catsup for years. I just keep putting the little packs in with it.

I save the jellies and jams for the same reason. Even the salt and pepper packets. They are nice to use a few when cooking, already measured too.

I keep the packs in a plastic box with a hinged lid and every month or so I set with the scissors and clip the corner off and watch as it adds up.

I don't know if honey is considered a condiment, but I have found that if you remove the cap and heat the bottle in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, that last little bit becomes pourable again.

Whenever I'm down to the very last drop of Ranch dressing, I find the best way to stretch it the extra mile is to mix in a bit of milk and shake well. As long as you don't overdo it, the consistency and flavor of the dressing remain relatively unchanged.

When you have used all of the jelly out of the jar, fill almost full with water, close the lid and shake. This becomes a perfect mixture for making freezer pops!

I turn my bottles of ketchup, salad dressings, any sauces, upside down to drain that last bit of stuff out of the bottle and sometimes add just a bit of water to clean it out. You'd be surprised how much more there is.

Thanks for the great ideas for getting the most of the condiments. One more tip ~ don't forget the bottle! If its a squeeze bottle of ketchup, mustard etc. wash it out ( don't forget to write on the bottle what it now is ~ so it doesn't get confused with the original contents!) & use it for cleaning products, paint ... Also for bottles like peanut butter, jelly (anything with a lid) these are perfect for storing flour, sugar, freezing sauces & other liquids. Also they're great for storing garage stuff (screws, nails...) Be creative & save a BUNDLE :).
