I have a well pump that is currently on a 20 amp circuit and has 12 gauge wire. I want to add a light switch and receptacle in the pump house using 14 gauge wire. Is it OK to switch out the 20 amp circuit with a 15 amp to stay within code or would the pump not be able to work on a 15 amp circuit?
