Reuse Glass Microwave Tray

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 170 Posts

Before throwing away that broken microwave, save the glass dish that is inside. It has many uses. At the moment I am using one under one of my large houseplants to protect my floor from any water overflow. My daughter uses one as a food platter when having parties. Use one as a tray as long as you are careful - some are heavy. These glass dishes can serve many purposes, just use your imagination.

I place my cat's water and food dishes on an old microwave glass place.

Yep. Been reusing microwave turntable for quite awhile now. I just hate to throw out anything that might be useful for any other purpose beyond their original use!

During our recent snow storm, I had to get creative in order to keep the birdies fed. I put their food on an old oblong glass try and put a fold up tray over it.

You better believe those little angels loved that they could get their food.

In country areas people use the microwave as a rain proof letterbox.

I use mine when I need a tray for a pot-luck. I figure if it gets broken or I don't get it back, no big deal. My 22-year-old microwave probably won't last much longer, and then I'll have two trays.
