Is there any help for a single parent whose house burnt to the ground with no insurance?

I guess that would depend on the type of help you are asking for. I don't know of any organization that will build or even partially build a house for you. That is the reason people should have homeowner's insurance. When it comes right down to it, the insurance would be cheaper than being without a home. Instead of rebuilding, or buying a different house, maybe you should consider renting. My renter's insurance runs a little over $10.00 a month and that protects me in case there would be a fire that was my fault, and it also would pay enough that I could replace any belongings that I lost with completely new items.

I don't know how much homeowner's insurance would run, but all you would have to have insured would be the house, itself, the land doesn't have to be insured and your belongings would't have to be, because there are non-profits that will help you with those items when you have a place to use them.
