Craftsman Riding Mower Won't Start?

My Briggs 19.5v twin turbo cool mower struggles to turn over if at all with the spark plugs removed and the battery fully charged. I was told it needed a starter, but after investigation I found that the flywheel wouldn't move. I removed the plugs and squirted some mystery oil in the cylinders and it broke free right away and spun by hand easily. I reinstalled the plugs and it fired right up. Not wanting to have it running at full throttle after all that I idled it down and it slowed and then died. The flywheel stiffened back up and now its still stiff even with the plugs removed. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

This can be caused by dirt and you may need to replace the flywheel and the parts associated with it. It sounds like it is frozen and the teeth of the wheel are going bad. I would take this apart and clean the pieces really good and assemble it back again. If you are still having issue replace the part.

It sound like the starter and the flywheel together need replacing. Check spark plugs and filters to be on the safe side!

You are having problems that are not that easy to diagnose without being able to ask questions.
If you can go out please pay a visit to your local auto parts stores or Ace Hardware/True Value Hardware or a Tractor store or a lawn mower store (not lawn mower shop) and tell them what is happening with your mower.

Please do this before trying anything else as you could be causing further damage to your engine and then may need costly repairs.
Try talking with several people from these stores and try very hard to not have to have your mower put in the shop as this could be a costly service.
It sounds like you can do the work yourself if someone (with small engine knowledge) can set you on the right track.
I would visit more than one store but if you find one that you like maybe some new parts will get your mower going.

Good luck and happy cutting!
