Cranberry Relish

I am looking for a cranberry relish recipe, I think that is what it is called. It has whole berry cranberry sauce, crushed pineapple, and nuts, I think walnuts. I don't know if there are any other ingredients or how much of these ingredients are needed. I am sure one of your great readers can help me out. Thank you.

Cranberry Relish

I make this every year!

  • 2 apples
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 bag fresh cranberries
  • 2 cups sugar

Leave skin on oranges and apples and grind all ingredients together. Let sit overnight, this is great. If there are any leftovers my brother-in-law takes them and adds ground jalapenos to serve on crackers. This is an old family recipe. Please let me know if you try this! Cranberry Relish

This is the recipe that my family has used for years.

Mom's Cranberry Salad

  • 1 lb. ground cranberries
  • 1 cup ground apples
  • 1 large orange, ground
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 3 oz. pkgs. raspberry Jell-O
  • 2 cups sugar.

Mix fruits and sugar, set overnight. Dissolve Jell-O in liquid and add to fruit mixture. Set until firm. Double recipe if desired.

I fruits are very juicy, you might want to cut the water or increase the pkgs of jello. (11/21/2009)
