Curtain Color Advice to Coordinate with Sofa?

Curtain Color Advice to Coordinate with SofaWhat curtain colour will suit my Palladian Blue (looks like mint green) sofa? My dining room is a light wood colour, my TV desk is grey wood. I didn't buy my coffee table or book rack or rug yet so any suggestion on these are also welcomed. I live in an apartment with a sliding door, combined dining and living room, with white tile. Thanks. Ps/ that curtain is my temporary curtain.

Your sofa is a really nice color! I love the lavender, mint, gold accents style.

A lot of curtains would pair nicely with your set up because you have neutral white walls and white tile.

You can even go with a beige if you'd like, if you don't like colors. But brown, purple, another shade of teal curtains would do.

I would go with white lace. Your room is tiny, so you want the light to keep it from being too dark. Hope that helps.

You are actually in luck as your "permanent" (sofa, walls, desk, floor) colors will coordinate with almost any colors you like (maybe stay away from dark colors unless it is for accent like sofa pillows).

  • You mentioned sliding doors so curtains for these can be tricky as they have to be easy to slide aside for people going in and out.
  • By "curtains", do you actually mean sheer curtains or do you mean heavier (non-see through) drape style? Or a combination of the two styles?
  • Most colors can be found in either style but may look entirely different when hanging.
  • It will take a special type of curtain rod to hang either style over sliding doors.
  • I would suggest you go to a large department store that sells curtains and has them hanging on rods so you can see the whole curtain.
  • You can tell the sales person that you need them to cover sliding doors (have measurements handy) and they should be able to help you select a style in the color you like and also show you what type of rod you will need.

  • You should know before you shop how far above the door and distance on each side of the doors you like so your measurements will be correct.
  • Curtains for sliding doors have to be functional because they will be used and not just "hanging".
  • Take a look at some photos on the Internet to understand what I mean.
