I have done olden brown highlighting in my hair. My original hair colour was black. I am not happy with my hair colour. How long do I have to wait to get my original colour back?

I would wait a month and deep-condition weekly.
i would go back straightaway to the stylist and request a protein hair treatment to strengthen the hair, and then on that day, or a week later, s/he might be able to add a colour on top of that
since you're going from light to brown, you could also try henna at home
I streak my light brown hair to get blonde highlights, and I know that 13 minutes is the exact time to leave it on. Once in a while, I'll leave the mixture on too long, and I'll have yellow streaks.
When that happens, I buy some Fanciful setting mouse in a slightly darker blonde shade. You have to reapply it after shampooing, but it covers up the yellow. You might check your local beauty supply to see if they have a black shade you could use.
And, if you don't like it, it washes out.
