Healthier Chocolate Cake

This cake is delicious! I honestly have never made one that I liked better. And yes, this is still dessert, and still sugary... but it is much healthier than your average box cake. Please try this, it's so good!


Total Time: About 20- 30 minutes prep

Yield: 13" by 9" cake

Source: Modified from a recipe in a book called Clean Eating



  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Mix your flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Mix your coffee, oil, extract and vanilla in another bowl. Add this to your dry ingredient bowl and stir until combined.
  3. Pour into a greased 13" by 9" dish. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean.
  4. In a small pot, add chocolate chips, peanut butter, oil and extracts. Stirring continuously, melt over medium/low heat. Make sure there are no lumps.
  5. Spread evenly over your cake. This cake is super good eaten in a bowl with milk poured over the top. Yum!:)
