Homemade Garam Masala

ground spices in bowlGaram Masala is an Indian spice mix blend. Since a lot of my recipes use it, even if it's not Indian food, I thought I'd share how I make mine. I prefer to make my own spice mixes from scratch. They are fresher, cheaper, and I can always adjust it a bit to my liking.

It is said that Garam Masala is great for immunity boosting, aiding in digestion, and lowering blood sugar.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions:

  • Mix all ground spices together. Place mix in an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place.
