You need to know who manufactured it. Your first task is to undress the doll and look for markings. If they arent any, it is probably worth very little.

In order to identify a doll, you'll need to look for some sort of markings on the doll. Most of the dolls are marked on the back of the neck. If you can find any identifying marks on the doll this will help so much.

It looks like you have 2 very similar dolls so if you can find any markings on their neck/back or under the back hairline this would be the only way we might be able to help you identify your dolls.

  • When asking questions about your dolls you should first check for those markings/symbols/numbers and take pictures.
  • Next you need to take better pictures and only ask about one doll at a time. Take a full body picture as well as a full face and maybe a close up of their clothes/shoes.

  • Be sure to state if you do not find any markings/symbols.
  • Give the size (how tall is she?) as well as ANY information you have as to the provenance of the doll.
  • Be sure to tell the composition; porcelain, cloth, etc. (as best you can).
  • If you can check and take more pictures you can either add to this post or start another question and someone might be able to help you.
  • You can also post this same information on a doll forum and maybe some of the doll "experts" may recognize the dolls (even if they do not have markings/symbols).

Let us know if you find markings!

If you don't, you may want to see if there is a doll museum near you and you and the girl dolls can go on a road trip:
