Identifying a Cat Figurine

Can anyone help me identify this cat? It has odd markings that remind me of an owl, weird I know. There is nothing identifiable as to who made it. It's about 4" high.

The etching marks on the cat make me think it might be a piece of Pueblo pottery.

Please post a picture of the bottom.
How heavy is this figurine?
Does it appear to be made from one piece of material?

I think there should be some sort of marks on the bottom of this piece. It could have been made in Mexico or some other Latin country by the look of the item. it is hard to tell without seeing the bottom of this piece.

What material is he? Are the colors painted or etched? Is his bottom solid or hollow (hole in the bottom)?

He looks like he is in homage to a 1960s Italian Flavia piece, but I have never seen one in these colors. They were usually bright colors, but he has the same shape and eyes.

The lines and ears and regal features give him an Italian look vs. Mexican or other folk art, which were often somewhat exagerated or comical in nature.

This cat looks quite regal. What are the eyes made of? Glass or plastic? They are quite unusual.

If he is a 1950s or 1960s Italian piece, he could be quite valuable.

I am looking forward to learning more so maybe we can figure out who he is. Where are you located?

There are no markings on the bottom. I believe the finish is etched, it's not smooth.

Looks like it was made in one piece and I can't tell how much it weighs.

Sorry. It's got a little heft but it's not heavy. I think the eyes are glass.
