Identifying a Painful Bump on Finger Pad?

Identifying a Painful Bump on Finger Pad - pimple looking bump on index finger padI have this yellowish/whitish painful bump on my index finger pad. It's painful to touch. Does anyone know what it could be? It is hard to see in the photos, but is in the dead centre of my finger.

If it hurts it could be infected. Time to see a doctor.

When I had one it was a wart. Very painful.

Does your doctor let you do telemedicine (where you email them in a secure way a photo, they look at it and give their diagnosis?)

That was how I had mine diagnosed.

The doc then gave me some choices for over the counter meds...I can't remember which one I used, I think she said Compound W. It was painful (to me), but it worked.

Post back with an update! Sending healing wishes.

It might be a "mucous cyst" if you have joint pain / arthritis. Sometimes it's good to check with family members to see if they've ever experienced these types of things since even minor conditions can be inherited. Good luck!

It's possible it is caused by a tiny splinter or the tip of a thorn but if you have Epsom Salt you can make a pan of hot water with a cup or more of Epsom Salt (hot as you can stand without burning) and soak until water is cold.

Do this several times and just soak in hot water if you do not have Epsom Salt.
If it has something in it this will bring it to head where you can remove it.

You can also place a piece of duck tape over it for overnight and see if that draws it out or softens it. Use surgical tape or tape end of a band aid if you have nothing else.
Any of this will help to decrease the pain.

I have the same exact thing, going on for months now. It started after i was sick with every symptom of covid but that test came back negative. I thought i had a splinter, thats what it felt like, but there was no splinter to be found.

After a couple days I noticed the bump moved to a different finger, and has continued to jump around my hand/fingers. It's the weirdest thing ever and this is the first time I've ever experienced this.

This is happening to me too! On multiple finger pads. Did you ever resolve?

Same here, its been happening for the last month or so. i thought it was a splinter on my thumb, i picked it but nothing to be seen.

Then i got it on my index finger pad, now on my other hand index, and they are tender to touch. Has anyone figured out what this is?

Since your spots have been spreading, I believe you may have a wart. There are many home remedies but the Compound W type medications seem to work well in most cases.

Good luck!

I have these too! It's been two years, although they stopped almost completely while I was pregnant. They're a bit painful, last a few days, and then show up on another finger.

Always on the pads of my fingers. Would love to know if anyone sorted out what they are.

Dyshidrotic eczema, check this out? I recently had this come on from stress, my body has been reacting in all weird ways.

I've had a bump like this on my thumb for six weeks now. It began with a splinter but I removed that. I thought there might still be a tiny bit left in so I picked away the skin and out magnesium paste to draw anything out (this has worked in the past). But a small lump formed which you can hardly see but very painful when pressure is applied. Anyway I did an econsult with the surgery and was called in. The nurse couldn't see anything but she picked it again with the tweezers and I screamed in pain (she didn't stop or apologise). She was going to put some more paste on and then found she didn't have any She took a photo and asked a GP who prescribed some antibiotics which I've been on for a couple of days but still got the pain (which wasn't helped by Nurse Ratchet and her brutal tweezers. Wish I knew what it was as am going through plasters like anything.
