Identifying a Plush Animal?

Identifying a Plush Animal - cream colored stuffyThis vintage plushie has no tag and when I do photo search I get Charlie Bear, but looks like a monkey to me. He is fully jointed, even the neck. Anyone know what it is and who the manufacturer was?

Write to Gund. They are still in business. It could also be Applause, but they are no longer in business.

Fully jointed bears/and bear monkeys as I call this one, were very popular for many years.

Can you tell me how tall he is and what he is stuffed with (like is the stuffing solid or does it feel like beans?)

My first thought was he was a Vermont bear...but without knowing more info, I can't be sure.

I will look forward to hearing more and I hope I can help!

He is very cute!

Thank you for your reply! He is 19" and stuffed solid...no beans. This photo is the bottom of the right photo. Maybe that helps? I have tons of plush and have never seen it that I recall.

I meant the bottom of the right foot. :-)

Hello.

Thanks bunches for the extra info and markings. I have looked everything over very carefully and looked at all of my sources for plushies.

I am thinking you have either a hand crafted or a specialty item from a boutique (something only they carry).

The neat mark on the foot is definitely not one of the ones I have seen in any of the major brands.

Now it did cross my mind that it is possible that someone put this mark on it after market to distinguish it from others (like if was taken to a pre-school or such so they would not what one to grab at the end of the day), but I was going over the face and feet closely with my zoom and even the face and paws have a hand crafted look about it.

You can see if someone on the Facebook site Doll & Toy Identification Help can help. You have to ask to join, cannot ask for value, but if you provide all of these lovely photos someone may recognize this cutie immediately. I sold plushies for years in several different retail venues and while the bear/monkey theme is a familiar one, that he is fully jointed and that mark are not ringing a bell.

Post back if you learn more! He is so cute!! I am really curious to learn more!
