Identifying a Porcelain Doll?

Identifying a Porcelain Doll - old style porcelain doll in print dressMy fiance and I have been trying to identify this doll she inherited from her grandmother. There don't appear to be any identifying marks anywhere on the doll. It's about 8 inches tall. The head, forearms/hands, and lower legs/feet are porcelain with the body being cloth. Does anyone have any ideas?

It is going to be hard to identify without marks. It does look old. I would take it to a doll dealer for a free verbal appraisal.

She looks a tad like a German low brow doll, but I don't think she is. She may be a copycat to this style.

This site has some good info on this style:

There is one similar on ebay right now:

What caught my eye is the unusual hair style.

You may want to submit her to a doll forum to see if someone knows more. The blogger may also be able to help you. There is a contact me link on the left.

Porcelain everything probably makes it a new style (meaning vintage not antique or over 100 years old). It looks like a 1920s style...but it also could be a replica. Without marks or someone with intimate knowledge of dolls it is hard to say and most of on this site are dabblers and haven't got our expert belts (yet)!

Post back what you learn! I will also keep digging to see what I learn!
