Any dealer that specializes in dolls can tell you whether it is real. If it is, it could be worth a lot of money. Pristine dolls can be worth $30,000!

Neat piece!!!

You will need a professional appraiser to do this. The signatures do not look quite right to me, but I have only ever seen one Bru doll = live and in person and the one I had was authentic, no hair, very damaged, and still fetched $550 at an auction.

Ruby Lane sells a lot of these, maybe they can give you the name of reputable appraisers:

www.rubylane.com/dolls?cat=Dolls&q=bru

If they can't help, talk to your local museum or history center and ask if they can recommend someone who is reputable and honest. They can't give you a COA per se, they will give you written appraisal value.

Ask to have it appraised for insurance, which is more than retail value, but it will give you an idea of the worth.

I hope you have an authentic one, not a repro (although some repros have value too, just not like a real one.

Post back what you learn!
