I need help identifying this adorable bear. All I know is I grew up with this bear and the only thing left on the tag is the name of the company (1996 UNEEDA DOLL CO LTD), but I can't seem to find any similar bears like him anywhere online!

Even if they don't make that bear anymore, they can give you identifying information so you could buy it on eBay or a similar site.

As to information: you already have most of the information anyone can supply and, even if the Uneeda Doll Co answered your inquiry I do not know what other information they could supply as they made several models of 'Hug Me' bears in 1996 and yours is just one of the mix.
Your stuffed bear was made in 1996 and called a 'Hug Me' bear along with several other styles of bears. The Hug Me bears are plentiful online but I have not seen one exactly like yours. Your bear has the 'shaggy' fur and has a patch saying 'Hug Me'.
The only bears that I have found have the short fur but still talk.
If you're wanting to purchase another bear you'll have to check online sites frequently to see if someone puts one up for sale.
There are toy forums that help find toys so you might check some of them but I really feel they will tell you the same thing; keep checking.

The other posters have give you about as much info as there is--usually these bears did not have names, so to speak, they were lines--like a Valentine line or a Christmas line. I can't remember if we sold these when I worked in Hallmark...but if we did, my guess it was from a Valentine line.
There were Uneeda bears that talked or laughed...now I don't remember which...maybe both. They are harder to come by, especially ones that still work.
