I just bought 1972 John Deere 110 garden tractor from a guy. He said he didn't know what was wrong with it and didn't want to fool with it. I am new to these older mowers, but when turning the ignition the mower will turn over no problem, but won't fire. Any ideas on where to start?

Spark plugs,carburetor,filter!
Check the solenoid.
My troubleshooting go to these days when I want to fix something is YouTube and there are lots on JD products out there.
I suggest watching a few titled repair or troubleshooting and it will guide you through the process.
