What is the best colour to paint kitchen walls when the units are white but with black tiles?

I've seen a black and white kitchen with the walls painted a soft gold color and it is absolutely gorgeous! Also, a green, maybe an avocado green or a little brighter than that would be good. I hope this helps.
I like Faye's ideas. Another is a soft gray...kind of an "mix of both" colors? When you decide, send us a shot?
Those are such basic colours, that I think you can paint the kitchen any colour you like. You could go with white or even a cream, and then decorate with lively coloured curtains and accessories. If you like a country theme, for example, you could go with green/red apple theme - curtains, wall plaques, maybe an apple shaped cookie jar.
