Leave Straw In Place When Refilling

I love drinking from a straw and I like keeping one in my glass at all times. If the kids come want a drink, it's easier to have them just sip from the straw than taking a chance of them spilling the drink. But when I refilled my drinks, it seems like the ice always clumped up and the straw wouldn't go in my glass.

I started putting the ice in, then the straw and then the drink. When refilling, I just keep the straw in the glass. No more stabbing the straw trying to get it to the bottom, as it's already there.

Well what you can do to even if there is ice in the bottom just tip the glass to one side and put the straw in the end with less ice, that's what I do.
