I bought a new house and I'm not a decorator. The living room furniture is brown and dark beige. The walls are light beige. What do you think the curtain colour should be and also the carpet?

I would go for dark tan for the carpet, and a light tangerine for the curtains.
There are a lot of inspirational ideas you can find on the internet. You could type on Google search bar "beige living room" and find a lot of ideas.
I find a nice clean cream carpet with cream curtains would be nice. To spice up the living room, I would purchase color accents like splash of lavender for the sofa pillows.
it really would be great to add white, yellow, or other primary colours to liven up an atmosphere which can be made too bland with just beige
red accents would be bold, red and yellow
