I want to refresh the look of my living room, so I started with the curtain and it is a light blue, light grey, and white. My floor is brown and the couch is grey. What colour should I choose for the walls and carpet? I think white and light brown for walls and simple grey carpet? Blue pillows for the couch?

It would be to dark if you choose brown walls and carpet since your couch is grey.I would do the walls in the blue too match your curtains.Then do the rug grey.Blue and white pillows for the couch.
We just got finished with redoing our Kitchen.. They are all connected cause the people who built it had a lot of guest.. Check out Lowes if you have one near you and check out the Green Section.. It is made of plastic bottles and recycled.. It don't stain and easy to clean up .. We chose a Multi color brown and looks good with the blue walls..
Gray carpet and blue pillows are fine. I would paint the walls off white or cream.
I would do light gray walls and a darker gray carpet. I would have pillows, candles and lampshades in all the colors. Also add a couple of plants with coordinating pots.
I think in the future you would change your curtains? I would go with a neutral color wall like cream or off white and use the curtains as an accent.
Go with a neutral grey wall and teal accents
You could always do a border trim in brown around the top and bottom of the wall. Paint the walls a light cream color. I would stick with the light gray carpet. For the throw pills if the couch is gray you can add teal, salmon, and or blue for throw pillows.
I wouldn't paint a large border on the walls. I might even find a nice border wallpaper and use this to accent the walls. I am not sure I would use brown, I might go with a light orange or even a salmon color as my border on the walls.
