Looking for My Biological Dad?

I am looking for my biological father. I've tried Family Tree now, searched Facebook/social media and I'm waiting on 23 and Me results. Does anyone have any other ideas? After 39 years, I was told 3 weeks ago my dad was not biologically my dad and that I have an older half brother.

What I know is in 1981, he lived in Scottsdale, AZ. He was 21-30 at the time (so he should be 61-70 now if he's still alive). His name is Ron (from what my mom remembers) and he was an insurance salesman. He had ties to Utah as well and I believe he was possibly LDS. He was very much aware of my mother being pregnant and that I was born so he could have told my sibling or someone else that he had another child.

I do not believe you have sufficient information to find your biological father but if you can obtain even just a few more facts it may be possible.

First: what does your birth certificate state? At least you will have a range of months to search according to your birth date.
What name is shown as your father?
Only having a doubtful first name (Ron from what my mother remembers) is going to present many problems as all records use surnames and without that it will be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

What names are you using when you are searching the online sites you mentioned?

I know you said your father was married and having an affair but does this also indicate that your mother was married to your stepdad when she got pregnant with you?
Does any of your mother's relatives/friends remember or know about the affair?
Can you get more information from the person who told you about your 'half-brother'? They must have had some knowledge about your father to have this information.

You do not say where you are living now but it appears you will have to try and obtain most of your information from the Scottsdale, AZ area.
Since you have such little pertinent information I would suggest you have Scottsdale, AZ, 1980-1981 as your strongest points in all of your messages on Facebook and any media you use.

You might try placing a 'personal' ad on any site that allows it. You could start with Craigslist in Scottsdale. Try to place a message on as many links as possible even if the link name does not say 'personals'.
You might try sending a message to the Scottsdale office of Craigslist and ask them to post a message for you.
phoenix.craigslist.org/

You can direct your messages to local branches in Scottsdale instead of in your area.

Search Facebook for any sites that are involved in finding lost or missing relatives and post messages in Scottsdale.

Hopefully, someone will remember someone named 'Ron' who worked for an insurance company in 1981.

Try to get a Scottsdale phone directory. You could also try contacting the adoption agency, if you can get that information.

Try peoplefinders.com using Scottsdale as the city. There is a small fee to get additional information, but at least the preliminary/free results will show where he's lived and age so you can be reasonably certain you're on the right track.

Good luck on your quest.

You could also try a Investigator. They have ways of digging up missing info. Tell them what you know and ask about fees.

If not this route, try asking if the can advise on what to do on your own.
