Plumbing Repair Assistance for Low Income Homeowner?

I have a kitchen drain that backs up and floods my kitchen every time the sump pump goes off or I attempt to drain the washer. My kitchen has flooded 7 times in the past few days and 2 of the pipes have rusted through. I have no way to pay for this and my family and house are suffering. Where can I find help?

It's difficult to suggest places to check without more information.

First question - do you own (buying) your home?
If you are renting or live in a mobile home then you may not qualify under any of these programs.
If you are renting then you need to contact your landlord and make them understand how serious this is.
Good luck with getting help if you live in a mobile home as most agencies do not offer help with repairs unless you can get a grant.

Your area will have local places that help with repairs for needy families.
Google free plumbing help for low income family with your zip code and several sites will show up that you can check out to see if you qualify for help.

Habitat for Humanity does not usually help with problems like this but they may be able to supply you with agencies that might be able to help.

You can check for benefits on this site but you will have lots of paperwork to complete as there are many people needing help and not everyone qualifies.

If there are children involved and the family is truly low income then you may qualify. If you are on government assistance programs - Medicaid - food stamps - you may not have as much paperwork to complete.
If your family is living in an unhealthy or unsafe place then you may be able to get help faster than being put on a waiting list.

This is really hard to determine what program that you should go and check out first. If you are not a home owner or you live in a trailer park most of the progams will not accept you at all. Other than this you can try and check out HUD and see if you qualify for assistance and they can refer you to other offices.

I know there are some home loans from the Government that are low interest or you do not have to pay back. Again this depends on your income and if you own your own home or live in a trailer park.
