I'm foiled by cream-cheese package opening. Does anyone know how to successfully open the foil on store-brand cream cheese without wasting about an ounce or getting messy?

Start with a cold, refrigerated package. Cut with scissors to open and place the cream cheese in the container you wish to use. Lay the package wrapper flat, and with a knife, cleanly scrape off any "mess" and add that to the brick. Clean and easy!
