Separating Metal Pot Lid from Glass Stove Top?

I left my steaming hot metal pot cover (lid) on my glass top and it got stuck. How do I separate them?

Try covering it in ice and getting it cold, then removing it.

You dont want the glass to shatter. Put some warm cloths on the pot and then try to put a plastic knife under it to break the suction

I used my clothes steamer on the lid for 15 to 20 minutes and it came off. No mess and no water all over the place. Use a potholder to take the lid off the stove top.
