Some Outlets on Circuit Not Working?

I had a physically broken outlet in a spare room and while reorganizing my wife plugged something into the outlet. It threw the breaker. I replaced the outlet and one additional cracked outlet on the same circuit. I turned on the breaker and power was restored to part of the circuit. I have looked for GFCI and tested all I can find and am now starting to pull out all outlets with no power. Any advice?

Bruce is a great guy on here who is an actual electrician, and who might have some suggestions. If he doesn't happen to be around to help you out, you'd best call an electrician. Usually Bruce ends with that advice anyway.
