You may have a broken lever. First I would check to make side there is no thread, dust or fabric in the area.

Read your manual make sure all settings are right.
Step 2
Clean out bobbin.
Step 3
Read manual and oil where it says to.
Step 4
Reset timing by adjusting the cam.
Step 5
Check to make sure your tension is not too loose or to tight.
Step 6
If this does not work you need a repair man.
