Value of a Ceramic Figurine?

Value of a Ceramic Figurine? - what appears to be a Giuseppe Armani figurine of a mother and child, in pastel colorsI just inherited this signed figure. I am wondering if it is worth anything and whether I need to get it insured. Any help is greatly appreciated as I cannot find this figurine anywhere online.

It is an Capodimonte, Giuseppe Armani signed piece. Not sure how tall it is. It looks large (like the 12-14 inch range).

I am wracking my brain for the name--Handmaid in the garden. Gathering in the Garden...I will keep researching that.

Value is tough as most of the GA pieces have been sitting unsold for months and months and months.

They average ASKING prices between $200-$400 so perhaps the price point is just to high. I haven't seen one like this sell a long time.

I will keep digging to find the name.

As to insuring, probably not, as it should be covered under your main home owners--but ask. I have a feeling a rider would cost more than the piece would ever sell for, but that is just me.

I will post back if I remember her name. If you learn it first, please post it back here! Thanks for sharing! We sold tons of these at the Hallmark store! There were very expensive then. Sadly they barely have held on to their value because so many were made.

I found her...but I am still not sure this is her given name:

Lady with child and flowers is what they call it. I thought she had a "real name". Anyhow...she sold for 53.00 recently, so those high end listers would probably sell her at a much lower price point!

I did find one listed for sale on Etsy but she has the soft pastel colors (and colors seem to be more popular right now) with asking price of $399.00. No way to tell how long this has been listed for sale. This seller has her listed as: BRIDE and FLOWER CHILD.
Most of the time the true 'name' is unknown and the seller just makes up a name that describes the item so there is no way to know the true name without the complete list (with pictures) and only a true appraiser might have that information.

I did find an identical figurine that was listed for sale in 2013 with a starting price of $100 and no bids so this is not encouraging.
I would have thought the prices were better a few years ago but apparently that is not the case. For informational purposes this listing has a lot of information.

Most likely the true value right now is between $75-$150 but for insurance purposes the value would be stated at $250-$350 due to the fact that prices online are even higher than this.
You should include this item (with pictures) in your list of home items for insurance purposes but no need to notify insurance company unless you are just adding to other information.

Always remember that home owners insurance is best if purchased at replacement value as otherwise your coverage may only cover 10-20% of value of the item at the time of lost/destroyed.
