Value of a Collector's Choice Porcelain Doll?

Value of a Collector's Choice Porcelain Doll - doll in box wearing a houndstooth jacketI found this Collector's Choice porcelain doll in a friend's basement. Is it worth anything or just another doll no one cares about? I couldn't find a name for the doll. The box is old and dusty, but the doll is original and had not been taken out of box. I am thinking about putting it on eBay.

She is sweet! I could not find an exact match for her on sale or sold on any of my stomping grounds, so I can't give you her exact value in today's market.

It used to be dolls of color were worth a little more than the others, but that has changed and now almost all dolls have very little value in the resale world.

If she was mine, I would start her at $25 and take best offer (which I would not be surprised was as low as $5-8 since there are just so many dolls on the market these days).

If you are in the US be aware that the DIM shipping is going to be huge on her so that she is in a box big enough to be protected. She is quite fragile.

You may be better off in a local venue with no shipping.

Post back with how you do in the sale! Thanks for sharing your lovely find!

These dolls have been difficult to sell; even at very low prices and now that shipping has gone through the roof the larger dolls will be hard to sell at any price. The cost of shipping alone will be more than most people will be wiling to pay.

Take a glance at eBay dolls that have sold over the past several months and you can get an idea of what people are willing to pay even if it is not the exact same doll.
A very low percentage have sold at any price when compared to the 1,700 dolls presently listed for sale on eBay.

I agree with Pghgirl that your best choice would be to list her on local sites that offer pick up so there is no shipping involved.
Or- better yet, try to find someone who would like to have this cute doll and smile when they hug it.

The doll company who made your doll will produce around 1000 to 2000 of each doll. These are considered mass-produced dolls and do not bring in a high resale value. I have seen people who just want to get rid of them and ask $1 for the doll.

I have also seen people asking up to $25 for the doll. Just keep in mind the doll can sit on eBay for a long period of time and never be sold.
