Im not sure who made the doll. I do know it was made in 1997, which is fairly recent, and it is one of a lot of 2000, which is a lot of dolls. This doll is worth very little.

She is a William Tung doll. The logo matches the one on the box of this doll:

This doll is not yours...I am just showing you the match.

Sadly these beauties did not hold their value over the years.

While I can't remember the name of your beauty, I can tell you that most of the Tung dolls these days, if they sell, sell in the $10 range.

Here is a link (below) to the current sold ones on eBay. There are a few ringers in the bunch that have a higher value. I don't, at the moment, see a match to yours (when I don't know names, I match faces and clothing. This can be a challenge though if the doll was actually used as a doll and enjoyed and the child changed the clothes...then it is nearly impossible to find an exact match.

If you want to keep searching eBay every few days, a match to yours will probably come up. When it does, watch for it to sell and that will give you your EXACT market value today.

She is certainly a gorgeous doll and if I were still into collecting she would probably be on my wish list.
Your William Tung doll may be more valuable than most of the dolls if she is taller than 20 inches. I cannot tell her size but she does appear to be one of the taller dolls and these dolls (20-45 inches) have held their value a lot better than his smaller dolls.

If your doll is under 20" then a lot of what I state below will not apply to your doll.

  • If you check the link that Pghgirl shows of dolls that recently sold on eBay you will see the majority of the dolls sold for under $20 but if you check the dolls that sold for more money you will see that all of those dolls are over 20" tall.
  • If you happen to notice the doll that sold for the highest price was a OOAK described doll. Many people may not know the meaning of OOAK so I'll explain it just in case someone is interested.
  • OOAK Doll - One Of A Kind doll, only one was made. This generally refers to the clothing and perhaps a wig.
  • It seems the larger the doll the more valuable it becomes and this is not always the case with other brand dolls. One reason these dolls may be more valuable is they were usually produced in smaller numbers. Of course, many larger doll's numbers were only made in the #250-500 range so that would make a difference also.

  • From my searches it appears that 1997 was a year that larger size dolls were in demand so you might want to include 1997 in some of your searches. The actual size (inches ") will make a big difference in your search also as this is how many dolls are segregated. Especially when the name is unknown.
  • You can search eBay listings and also Etsy listings to see if anyone happens to put a doll like yours up for sale but these searches will probably not be fruitful as a doll like yours may not be listed in even 5 years. You can also look under the name "Tuss collection" as he also made dolls under that name. Searches like this are generally a waste of time but then you never know??
  • The thing that is the most interesting about dolls like yours is the different face molds. The face and the dress style are what many times dates a doll as producers usually go with whatever is popular in any given year.

  • If you happen to be interested just look at a few of the faces on W. Tung dolls on Google images:
  • I would suggest you ask about your doll on this forum as I feel sure someone will probably recognize your doll and that would save you a lot of time in research.
