Value of Duck House Heirloom Nun Dolls?

I have tried and tried to find even a photo of the nun dolls. I'd love to see them with some historical info such as year made and to know their values. Thank you!

Duck House Dolls were made from 1981 through 2008 but I believe your doll was probably made around 2004. I did not find very much information about the nun dolls but Duck House dolls mostly run in the value of less than $40 and generally in the less than $25 range. If the COA is not available (which has doll name and was signed by the vice-president of Duck House) this lowers the value for a collector.

  • Here is a link to information about the company but it does not mention any year for a particular doll.
  • like2shop.com/.../duck-house-dolls
  • The same dolls are now being made by Golden Keepsakes but the doll market has greatly diminished so there is no longer a big market for any type of doll.
  • Here is a link to a listing (sold) for Sister Ann nun but you would have to be a member to find what it sold for.

  • These are older postings but by reading as much as possible is the only way to find information on dolls like this.

  • You can continue to search on eBay, Etsy and Google but I do not believe you will find very much more information about these particular dolls.

  • Nun dolls - any brand name - are not really popular dolls and when listed for sale usually are very slow sellers if they sell at all.
  • If you like your doll, just display her and grin when you walk by.

Cybergrannie gave you some good history! She is very knowledgeable!

The nun dolls were never that popular when I sold them in regular retail venues...although I heard from friends associated with hospital gift shops that there were some Catholic Hospital shops (hospitals run by nuns--which was a long time ago) and they sold quite a few around the holidays. It was all about your target market.

Here are some photos of the variety of dolls they made:

As for values, I don't have a membership to Worthpoint, but if you had one you can log in and see what they got for them. The last one is an unsold doll where they were asking 7.99 + 13.99 shipping ( value would be--if it sells, $21.98).

eBay doesn't have any listed or sold at the moment, but check back weekly and that will give you an idea of sale prices also--the sold search is button to the left of your screen (if your screen is like mine). Be sure to match only an exact doll to your doll to value the items as one doll may be worthless and another may have value. Apples to apples matching gives you EXACT value in today's market. Value is only what someone actually pays.

Profit will always be less as selling online has fees that take away from the value.
