Washer Doesn't Always Drain and Spin?

I have a Kenmore front loader washing machine. Sometimes it doesn't drain and spin the water out. If I put it on a different cycle it will work or if I put it on the drain and spin cycle it will work. It doesn't always work if I change cycles. We have checked the drain hose for blockage, it seemed fine.
