What do you think needs to be fixed if my washing machine won't drain the water after the soak cycle and when it gets to the spin cycle it just makes a sound?

Small door at base of machine front and push to open, then unscrew handle inside. It will come out and any item (sock) etc, will be inside and any excess clogging. Put a towel down first. If no door at front or side, you need an engineer.
