What Is This Spot on My Dog?

What Is This Spot on My Dog? - red bump on dogHonestly I don't know the breed of my dog, I found him on the streets when he was little. The vet didn't really have any idea either. Today I discovered this red spot on his leg, close to his tummy. He's 5 months old and vaccinated. Other than going to the veterinarian, what should I do? Is it something that goes away with disinfection or surgery? Thank you!

Looking beyond the reddened area, I see slightly irritated flesh. Could be spreading, so I suggest taking the dog to its vet for professional advice and maybe testing for mites, etc.

A vet should examine this and tell you what it is and what to do.

Skin irritations and bumbs like this can be so many things it is very hard to tell if you are not a vet. Some vets can tell right away and then there are times that a scraping needs to be done to tell what this is. It looks like this will grow larger from the image you have taken.

I would contact a vet. It is hard to say what they will give you for the dog and this can be as simple as some cream or more complicated to treat. Please call your vet and make an appointment.

This could be any number of things. It is impossible to know without testing what it is. You need to see your Vet to find out what it is. Then you will know what you can do to fix it. Dont wait... When things get worse they get more expensive to treat. Dont take that chance.
