Wrapping Electric Cord for Under Cabinet Lights

A cord wrapped around a tension rod.I have plug in LED under cabinet lights in my kitchen. The cord only needs to be about 12 inches, but it's about 30. I tried various ways to stow the extra length under the cabinet, either by bundling and hanging on hooks, or running back and forth between hooks, and it all looked bad, and often fell when the damage free hooks unstuck themselves.

I just had an idea to use a tension rod. Just wind the cord around the rod and snap into place. It cannot be seen by an average height person.
