I found these and some other items in the attic. Is there any value to them? The Trans-Oceanic plastic dial cover is cracked. It has the owners manual in perfect condition along with a diagram of the units layout.
I have a 1900s Carsonola crank phonograph and am curious to see what it's worth. What is the value of it and any background info you can share.
This company is long gone. Similar phonographs are doing for $900 and more.
I have a Pathe record player. Is it worth something?
Ive seen them on eBay for $300-$500
i was given this, but have no idea whether to junk it or sell it. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Sure doesn't look like junk! :) Are there any markings you can find to help narrow it down & find out how much this would cost!
I am sure someone would love this!
The arm has the name Capehart on it. What you have appears to be a Capehart Console Stereo.
From what I remember, these were sold for many years at low end stores, like K-Mart and small family owned retail shops.
They are all over the place in value today with a bunch of factors that can affect the value.
Does it work?
Are they all original parts?
Do you have the book for it?
What condition is the cabinet?
Yours looks to be in rougher shape, so that will devalue it some.
I would not junk it since there is some value in it, but how to proceed is up to you.
Your options include:
Taking it all part and selling off the working parts (you would have to be able to test them). People who have these items love original parts to fix their own. There are also furniture flippers who love the cabinets and they do neat things with them, so you could get something for the cabinet also. Put the brand name into eBay and parts and you will see people are making money on the parts.
Find a good reseller, someone who specializes in vintage items and get them to sell it for you on consignment. They will be able to value it for your town and your market. There is not a lot of demand for these in my town, so you wouldn't get much here (probably less than $100), but in another city, you may get a lot more. It is all about supply and demand. In this venue, you would get a percentage of the sale.
You can also try to sell it on your own...you can look around your town to see if they are being offered and how much people are getting for them and start yours in that range.
There is one being sold in Utah that appears to be an close if not exact math to yours where someone is asking 799.99, but it appears to be pristine. Yours is not pristine, so you would have to take that into consideration when trying to value it.
You can always lower the price you ask and tell people to make an offer.
Post back how your sale goes and what you fetch for it! Thanks for sharing!
Well - it does resemble 'junk' but probably because it needs a lot of TLC.
Pghgirl has a lot of very good points so not much advise left to offer and she is definitely correct about saying to NOT use eBay.
If you try to sell your cabinet as it shows in the pictures, you may have trouble even selling it for $50 - just my opinion.
If you clean it up and test it you may be able to sell it for a lot more but you really need to know more about your cabinet to maybe realize its true value.
I like to recommend free online appraisals as you can learn so much from these appraisers - for free.
You can only ask for an appraisal if you clean it up, check it out and submit some good pictures.
You will need pictures showing full front, sides, back, and any marking on the inside or back. Also a picture with everything open that will open.
Does the top open?
Also state measurements and give your location and any information you have about this piece.
You may have a hidden treasure so do a little work and find out if you're lucky with this one...

Would anyone be able to tell me how much this is worth? It is in excellent working condition.
Thanks! :-)

Not a lot of people will buy these today. However, there are many different ones listed online. In order to give you the best price who made this?
I own a RCA Victor record player/stereo. The speakers go up top with speaker covers, not included, (where the DVDs are stored). The record player goes in middle drawer (not included).
2 other drawers pull out as well. It is very heavy. It has the RCA Victor logo. How much is this particular piece worth?By Tina
How much is this Stereophonic Ford Record Player?
Model H257HMA
Serial 5848906
Can someone help identify this piece of furniture I have? Can you tell me exactly what I have ;such as brand year and if it's in its original form and its value or where I may find this info? Also is there a site that I could find others interested in antique phonograph consoles?
Thanks in advance
I am just wondering the about the value of this record player, radio, and storage cabinet. It was made in western Germany I believe. Was in good working condition.
I am wondering what this family Victrola VV-XVI SN-100601(G) is worth and approximately when it was made. I tried to look it up, but came up empty handed.
It was introduced in 1906 and made until 1921. They ranged from $200-$750 when new. Only the rich could afford them. Depending on model and condition, they range from $500 to over $5000 today.
RCA started to make these around 1906 and they were very expensive when they first came out. My grandmother had one in her home that we loved to listen to.
Today they are worth quite a bit of money depending on the make, model, and the condition of the piece. The lowest range they sell for is around $400 which is not in very good condition. However, this one looks like it is in good condition and you might be able to ask $3000 to $5000 for this.
Anyone please help! I cannot find any information on this record player. It still works and sounds great. Thanks in advance!
We found my husband's grandparents' record player in the attic. The label is missing and appears to have fallen off as there are two small dots where it looks like something was attached. The stickers are half gone, but there is a date on one sticker on the bottom that has the year 1892.
After some research, I believe it is a Victor Phonograph. We are curious as to what it is worth, if anything. There are some springs and gears laying inside the box, so I'm sure it is not in working condition.I have several vintage Soundesign stereo consoles from the Classic Collection Series. These are still in factory boxes, unopened. Most all the model #s are none existent on the web. But also, some of these boxes say "Sample" on them.
I also have several of the table top receivers. Am/Fm receiver with single or dual cassette and/or 8 track player, some with recorder. Some have speakers that go with them. If any better pics would help, just ask.
Thank you very much for your time, and any help or info is much appreciated!
There are listings of this brand on eBay. Follow for a few weeks and you will get a feel for what they are selling for.
I purchased this record player console at an estate sale over 5 years ago. It worked back then and only needed a new needle, but I've had it in storage ever since and can't guarantee that it still does. The stereo is a Bogen and the record player is a Garrard. Anyone know how much it's worth? The finish is quite unique so I'm not sure if it's a custom job.
Thank you!
You need to test this item to see if it is working. Then look at these brands for a month or so on eBay to see what working and non-working items actually sell for. Then you will know how much to price yours
I'm looking for a general estimate of value. I know that the record player does need a needle, but otherwise, everything looks good.
The prices vary from $100 to over $500 on eBay.
The cabinet isn't in the best of conditions and the record player needs a needle. You can probably get around $75 to $150 if you sell it like it is now.
