Line a pan with foil. Brown the cubed steaks in a skillet. Place the steaks on the foil and add 1 bag of stew veggies over the steak. Add 1 envelope of onion soup mix to 1 can of cream of mushroom soup. Pour the mixture over the veggies. Seal up the foil and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour or until the veggis are cooked. I like to add one or two sliced green peppers and some diced potatoes to the mixture. Serve over noodles if you like. So Good.

Dredge it in flour mixed with a few seasonings, such as seasoned salt/garlic powder/salt/pepper/etc. Brown in a little oil just until browned. Lay it on a paper towel to try to get excess oil off. Place in a foil lined pan. Mix up a mixture of about 1/4 cup all purpose flour, and a quart of water or so. Pour over it and bake at 350 degrees F. for approx. half hour to 45 minutes. Makes its own gravy. Be sure and get the excess oil off so it will be creamy gravy, not oily.

Another way to use the cube steaks is to make swiss steak out of them. Brown them in a little oil, with some onions and add a can of diced tomatoes and either cook on low on the stovetop or put in the oven for about 45 minutes on 350 to tenderize. We also use the cube steaks for beef stroganoff, just cut into small squares, brown with onion and add a can of mushroom soup with a can of milk and stir in the meat and onions.

Then add a half cup of sour cream. We like it served over noodles or rice.
It's a thrifty piece of meat but the secret comes in cooking it slow in the oven to make it more tender for any of the receipes.

I simply coat mine with some seasoned flour and fry in a little Crisco or bacon fat. Serve with some homemade mashed potatoes!

Anyone that can't tolerate MSG or need low sodium meal meals, I'm sure would know how to make adjustments to this recipe. For instance.. for myself, I use fresh veggies instead of frozen or canned ones, replace onion soup mix and the canned soup by adding fresh mushrooms and onion slices to the other veggies and I'd add a couple of tablespoons of beef consomme for flavor and moisture, along with a cup or so of water.

This makes a delicious, easy crockpot dinner. Brown the steaks and put in the crockpot. If you like onions you can brown the steaks with a little onion.

Add a can of cream of mushroom soup with the milk added (can of milk) and pour over the steaks in the crockpot and put on low and cook until dinnertime. Make some rice or mashed potatoes to put the sauce over and enjoy!
