Ellie Mae (Yorkshire Terrier/Toy Poodle)

Ellie Mae is 12 years old and a Yorkshire Terrier/Toy Poodle mix. We got Ellie Mae when she was 7 weeks old, in 2000. She was so small, she fit into my young son's baseball cap.

The city we bought Ellie from was 5 hours away from home. I put her under my sweat shirt to keep her warm on the long car ride home. By the time we got home, she'd climbed (under my sweatshirt) up past my chest and found her way down the arm of my sleeve. She ended up near my wrist, lol.

Her most favorite play activity is fetching tiny balls or small stuffed toys. She also loves being at our cottage stalking the resident squirrels. She is the most intelligent dogs we've ever owned. Ellie tips her head off to the sides when we talk to her and I know she listens to our conversations. I say this because Ellie loves my girl friend Sherry, and she often looks up at me with searching eyes when I mention Sherry's name. We love Ellie dearly, and hope she continues to live a long healthy life.
