Finding a Inexpensive or Free Bed Need a bed?

My brother James is in his 50s and has brain cancer. He just found that out 2 weeks ago. He has no money. We are looking for a bed set for him. It has to be at least a full or queen size. We are looking for something very cheap or place to contact for a donation.

You can post on NextDoor and see if any neighbors have an extra bed to spare.

You can contact other local organizations, churches, ask family, friends, co-workers.

Perhaps a carwash drive or some sort of event to help raise money for your brother's bed.

Where are you located?

If you are in the US, the American Cancer Society would be the place to start. They can get you into the right path to find the support services your brother needs. Their main number is: 1 (800) 227-2345

Also, contact the social services department of the last hospital where he received care. They also have wrap around services (which may include bedding).

Between the two, you should have a good start to find what you need.

Prayers for your brother and you! Post back with updates.

If you arej looking for something very cheap it is a good idea to look into air beds. They normally start off around $40 and go up from there.

Other than this you can check on Freecycle, contact social services, the red cross, and your local churches in your area.
