Homemade Salsa

My family loves salsa, and homemade is so much better and cheaper than store bought. This recipe makes about 4 cups of salsa. Serve with chips or with your favorite Mexican dish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can tomatoes and green chilies
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can diced Italian tomatoes (plus the juice)
  • 4 tsp. diced pickled jalapenos
  • 1/4 cup diced sweet onion
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. sugar

Directions:

In food processor place jalapenos and onions. Process for just a few seconds. Add both cans of tomatoes, garlic salt, cumin and sugar. Process all ingredients until well blended but do not puree. Place in covered container and chill for about 2 hours.

I often try other people's salsa recipes because you never know if there might be a better one than your own favorite out there. This is a nice simple and quick recipe, Rachel's Mom!

:-) Just my personal preference but it seemed to be missing something so I added some fresh chopped cilantro and a splash of fresh lime juice and that did the trick for me. Thanks for sharing your recipe!
